A detailed Summary of Education


Education in my life has changed drastically since I have come to college. There was one distinguishing moment that I can remember that made me choose college over entering the workforce. During my freshman year at college, I tore my groin during summer football practice. I had to leave college and go back to my hometown to let the injury heal. This was a major low point in my life and the choices that followed have made me the person I am today.

After my injury, I was not sure if I wanted to go to college any more, I was thinking of being trained in a trade and forgetting about college. A friend of my father gave me a job as an electrician. At first, I loved the job because always having money in my pocket was a great feeling. A month went by, winter was coming, and the weather was cold. The job did not seem like too much fun anymore. It was Thanksgiving weekend and all my friends were home telling me what a great time they were having at their colleges. I wanted to be a part of that experience and not feel like I was missing out on something great. The other reason for my change of heart was that I experienced a taste of real life for a month. When I was looking at colleges my senior year Nichols College caught my eye because of it's academics and athletics. The education program was just starting and I thought it would be a great opportunity to be one of the first graduating history teachers in a well-known business school. This was a challenge that I wanted to explore and I feel that I made the right choice. I am receiving a good education mixed with a great social life. High school was fun, but college is great. The closeness of the college community is an aspect that I love. I would not have done well at a huge college, where you are just a number. The small classes, where the professor knows you personally, was one of the reasons for me choosing Nichols College. This factor has also contributed to my college academic successes.
