the big move
A detailed Summary of the big move
As a youth I enjoyed various sports, was in honors classes, and had many friends. I lived at 3818 Overlook Dr. in Temple Terrace, Fl. Right next to my home were two empty fields that were often used for either soccer, football, or baseball. These fields also served as meeting grounds for youths of my age. My friends were Jorge, Mike and Johnny. All but Mike were older and went to different schools. We were the classic crew, played sports together, got in fights, and tried to and I said tried to pick up ladies.
To me things were going great, I was a kid in the 6th grade having a great time. I never even considered moving but I guess my parents had had it on their mind for a while but never told my stepbrother or me. The reason I say that is because one sunny Sunday afternoon my parents told my brother and I to get in the car to go look at houses. Well we only looked at one house and I guess they had been planning on buying it. So the next week came the news, bad for me but obviously joyous to them. We were moving. I had a week to say my goodbyes. This week was the worst week of my life. I was definitely distraught and really didn't want to say it. But inevitably the day came, it was moving day! I remember it li

As we moved the school year ended and it was summer. I made a few friends but due to the cities small population and my lack of direction there I made many trips back to my old hood. I did not like this setup. Before now I had never seen a dirt road but that changed as well. I really wanted to move home but my parents made me at least give it a chance and stay until the first school year was over. I did and what a good decision that was.

It was like a revolution but only a backwards version. Almost like going back in time to when cities were smaller and less dense. I could tell this was not a good thing.
After school started I met lots of great friends and just like in Tampa formed my own crew. I'm not sure why I have a tendency to do this but I do. I've even almost done the same thing here in Tallahassee. My new friends consisted of Dennis, Lucas, Scott, Brent and Stuart. These guys were great. We all lived pretty far apart so we had to find a place to hang out after school. It started with the church on Wednesday but that didn't give us the freedom we craved. So all of us started to chill daily at Brandy's house, a friend of ours. This was perfect. Her house was only about a block away from mine and gave me the freedom that I needed as a young teen.
My new friends were all unique in themselves but also had enough in common to be very close. We basically did everything together, which included getting in trouble a lot. When we all met at the First Baptist Church we had a good place to hang out before we really got to know each other. Back in those days I used to skateboard so a few friends and me would skate before church. These were the d
