In history, there were many time periods, one in which was called the Renaissance Period. During this period, the Church was the central authority and there was no other form of government to rule over the people.

Using this criticism, one may conclude to what was going on in Shakespeare's life and mind. Therefore, relating the text to his life and having a better understanding of the text is what resulted.

In the play of Hamlet, Hamlet's father is killed and the ghost forms suspicious interrogations of the killer that Hamlet had already formed. This piece is relevant to Shakespeare's father's death and the naming of the play, which came from his beloved son, Hamlet. Another of Shakespeare's works, which is psychoanalyzed, is "The Tempest". This play was probably the last of Shakespeare's works because it was assumed to be written around the time of his retirement, and one could assume that he didn't write any more plays. The Tempest was a play in which many assume, psychoanalyzing the text, that Shakespeare portrayed himself with one of the main characters in the play, which goes by the na!
