Governmental powers are shared among the national and state governments this is a federal system. Public welfare and education are responsibility of the state. After the great depression the nation started to look to the federal government for help. The size, population, lobbying and 30 representatives in Congress can tax and spend to help the people. The renaissance program is a federal and local partnership. The renaissance program takes federal money to give to the local community to help restore neighborhoods. HUD takes the federal loan and restores homes, build and repair sewer systems, streets and sidewalks. The child support program in Texas is also a state and federal partnership. The federal government gives money to states to start programs. They also gave Texas money to buy computers to start the tracking system to find deadbeat parents. Texas was the first large state to start this program. One advantage of the program is that it tracks down deadbeat par!ents so they can start to pay child support.
