Dual perspective is the conscious and systematic process of perceiving, understanding and comparing simultaneously the values, attitudes, and behavior of the larger societal system with those of the client's immediate family and community system. In making this comparison a social worker for example, can get a better idea of where a person is coming from and what they have gone through. For instance Shaunna comes from a family where here father was a Native American and her mother was white.
