Culture is different from one to another. Culture has many different areas within it such as the different forms of relationship that lead to marriage. Marriage throughout time has changed dramatically. From as early as the Industrial Revolution arranged marriages have been popular, if not a requirement. A woman's father and brother would be primary instigators of a relationship. Times have changed since the Industrial Revolution dramatically from arranged marriages to marriage of your choice. Weddings in present time revolve around falling in love and then getting married without the influence of elders. Culture deals with marriage as evolving through time and changing dramatically through time of the eighteenth century to the twentieth century.
By the nineteenth century, marriages were viewed as only honorable and available career for most women. During this time, there were very low paying jobs and this made it very hard for single women to survive. This was the main reason for women to get married and this led to an increase in marriages during the nineteenth century.
The twentieth century is where the traditional marriage all took place and this is when the increase in divorce occurred. The traditional marriage is finding the perfect man or women and finding the perfect characteristics in this person.
