Many advertisers look to poll the common, ordinary, every-day working class Joe, the people who are within their largest viewing and marketing area. One such internet site has developed a questionnaire to make this polling a bit easier, not only for the businesses, but also for the people being asked. VALS, or Values and Lifestyles has come up with a survey that polls people ages 18-65+ on a variety of topics. Their responses, in turn, help this company to develop new and improved internet and web-based products according to the responses. All in all this survey is fairly accurate, but even the VALS knows that people could provide false information or answers or misinterpret wording in a question. I do live a conventional, normal, non-exciting life, I am conservative in my political views, and I always respect authority figures and the status quo. My image is very important to me, and I work hard to maintain it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ When it was all said and done, and the responses were gauged, I was a little shocked to see that the computer rated me as an "Achiever", and "Experiencer". After reading the explanation, I couldn't help but to disagree with several of the criteria. For example, under "Achiever" it stated, "Achievers are successful career and work oriented people, who like to, and generally have control over their lives." With that said, I move on to the other trait they dumped on me, "Experiencer". This is a funny one. I
