Atlantis
A detailed Summary of Atlantis
There are many mysteries of the world... the Bermuda triangle, the ancient pyramids of Egypt, supernatural phenomenon..The list could go on. But of all the world's unsolved mysteries, this is probably the biggest. Imagine living on a huge island continent with an extraordinary civilization, located in the Atlantic Ocean. It is the nearest thing to paradise the Earth has ever seen. (Stemman 6) Fruits and vegetables are very abundant, because the soil is so rich. Flowers surround everything, with beautiful mountains too. All kinds of tame and wild animals roam freely in the meadows and magnificent forests. Underground streams of sweet water provide the soil with nutrients and the people with something to drink. The Earth is rich with precious stones- diamonds, rubies, emeralds, etc. Even fire crystals with give off energy. The people are very smart and wise. But in time...something happened to this great civilization. Something that caused it to disappear in one day and one night.!
Or did it?... Atlantis is one of the biggest mysteries of the world, and might remain that way for a very long time. Many people have speculated for many years weather or not this phenomenal place really existed. To many, it's just a myth

One very interesting detail of this civilization, is how much it has seemed to influence other civilizations all over the world! For example, the Egyptians. Jim Maud has done a lot of research regarding this particular theory. And from reading his research, it has been concluded that pyramids were built around 10,500BC. (Maud) There are plenty of questions to be answered on how the Egyptians actually build the pyramids. For example, how did they get the mathematical knowledge to build them? I think the Atlanteans had a great help in this. Egypt isn't the only place pyramids have been found. (Maud) This causes me to believe that the people of Atlantis traveled around the world, and had a great influence on many other cultures.
Some people, however, have made false discoveries. In 1912, Dr. Paul Schliemann announced that he had coins and an inscribed metal plate belonging to Atlantean culture. (Stemman) He left behind a sealed envelope for his family to open, and continue his search for Atlantis. (Stemman) This just proved how easy it is to make up something and have so many people believe you. This is why a lot of people don't believe the story of Atlantis. They think it's just a fiction story, or poem written as a poetic memory of the Cretans. (Ley) Although there has been so much evidence supporting tons of theories to back up that Atlantis did exist, there are many things that will never be uncovered. This is why the biggest mystery that remains is when Atlantis really existed and disappeared. (Wilson)

First of all, the whole history of Atlantis has been written only one time throughout the whole history of the world! Another thing, there are no inscriptions, artifacts, ruins or any of the usual evidence that archeologists usually use to get important details left behind. (Chapin) Lastly, there are many theories as to where Atlantis really is located. (Chapin)
