ANNE FRANK, point form notes

 Anne was born on June 12,1929 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany

 Second daughter of Otto and Edith Frank

 Has a sister named Margot, who is three years older than her

 Comes from Jewish/German descent

 Otto Frank (Anne's father) served as an officer in the German army during WWI.

 In 1933, due to Hitler's anti-Jewish decrees, Otto Frank opened a branch of his company, Opteka, in Amsterdam and brought his family there.

 Anne and Margot spent the summer of 1933 in Aachen, Germany with their grandmother.

 Anne, Margot and Edith moved to Amsterdam, February 1934, they lived in 37 Merwederplain

 Anne began to attend the Montessori school, where she excelled, she made many friends and was an exceptional student

 Margot received a notice from the Nazi SS to report for work detail at a labor camp.

 July 5th , 1942, Anne and her family moved to the " Secret Annex"

 The leader of the Nazi Party was Adolf Hitler, he believed that the German people were a superior race, stronger, and more intelligent

 By 1933, the Nazi was the largest party in Germany appointed to head the go


 By 1942, all Jews, 6 years old and older had to wear a yellow star of David on their clothes to differentiate between Jews and non-Jewish people

 After the summer of 1941 Anne was not allowed to attend school with non-Jews

 Anne entitled diary "Kitty", it was her comfort, confidant and friend

 Upon recovering Otto began to search for his family, en route home to Amsterdam he learned of his wife's death but not unil sometime after his return he discovered the facts of his daughters deaths

 Anne's diary ended August 4th, 1944, when their hiding place was betrayed by a Dutch associate
