Euthanaia
Almost every family has had to watch the slow and painful death of a loved one or family member from some sort of chronic illness. They have to make a careful but wise decisions for that person unless they are able to decide on their own whether or not they should be kept alive because of their illness. People begin to face these situations by asking themselves questions, and begin to think about both sides of the situation. Some questions that are asked are as follows; aren't doctors supposed to kill the pain, but not the patient? Or people begin to take the other side and ask; what if the person is in major pain and have no signs of getting better? People begin to debate and begin to discuss the pros and cons of the situation. There are many pros for euthanasia. If a person requests aid in dying, it should always remain a personal decision. People who want assisted suicide show cases of terminal illnesses and are in intractable pain and want to end their life. Suicide is a legal act that is theoretically available to all, but a person who is in a hospital or is disabled may not be able to exercise this act. They are being discriminated because of their disability thinking that they are not capable of making decisions.
Also, there is the issue of living wills. A living will is a document that protects the right of choice in end of life matters for patients. Not everyone has a living will when they become ill even though they don't want to live through the agony and pain. With or without a living will, its not right to end a life even though its ones own. Many think that they should be able to decide on their own but what about their families. The family will spend the rest of their lives wondering in agony and pain about whether or not a cure would have been found or if the patient would have made it out of the coma. Some say, why waste the money and extend the pain and agony by keeping someone on a machine?. We need to look a life in a positive way. What's more important, the life of a family member or trying to save money and pain?. Clearly it is the life, nothing is more important than that. Approximately one billion dollars is spent on life support annually. The cost of keep! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ In conclusion I think euthanasia should not be practiced and that everyone should live their life with all they can to help them overcome their illness. Either way, suicide is no answer to pain. The belief that euthanasia should not be tolerated in order to save the agony and pain for both the family and patient People believe it is unfair since everyone has the right to their life and should be able to make their own decisions. Death can represent a relief in pain to many people. I have many opinions on Euthanasia, but most of all I believe that this is not necessary to do. We do not have a claim on death. We do not decide when our life will end, just as much as we decided when it began. What each p
