Capital punishment is a very controversial topic because of all the different perspectives it could be viewed by. The use of capital punishment has been a permanent fixture in our society since early civilization. It has been used for various crimes ranging from the desertion of soldiers during wartime to the more cruel crimes of serial killers. The main focus on our society has always been "Let the punishment fit the crime", to most people this means that if a person has committed a crime that involved killing someone else then he too should be killed. Also when I think about capital punishment I have to stop and think of how I would feel or how do I feel with this overwhelming outraged subject. I could say that I am against the death penalty, but at the same time if someone was to kill one of my children I think that I would want him or her to die also. You see there are so many outcomes when one discusses the death penalty, and I truly do not believe that if you are for the death penalty then there is no other way and if you are against the death penalty then you may not be one day.
