Not only is this their first combat trial, but also it offers them a chance to organize and correct problems in their planning. 5. One of the main reasons I liked this book was the amount of detail that goes into it. The author, Tom Clancy, doesn't just tell us, "He was shot by a gun." but by a slightly dull, meticulously maintained, Russian 7.62X39mm AK-47 loaded with hollow pointed rounds. All of the characters are developed throughout the book. We learn their struggles internally as well as externally. He uses real world scenarios and event that aren't far from reality. He picks places to use in his books that make you think, "Hey, that really could happen there." The next novel I read, I expect to find the same detail and care that went into Rainbow Six. I expect real world scenarios and events I could imagine seeing on the news.
