Evidence That Demands A VERDICT
In search of the truth, I found life. Researching this book has opened my eyes and my mind to understanding my faith. Through eyewitnesses and Biblical accounts, historical facts and archaeological findings, we can develop knowledge of our faith through substantial evidence. The historicity and the deity of Christ can be proved through all these different sources. These facts show us that Jesus Christ does exist and that His existence is as real today as it was then. A place where you can find the best evidence to believe in Christ is in the Bible (A.D. 150). The reliability of the Bible is supported by various versions like the Syriac(A.D. 150-250), the Latin(A.D. 300-400), the Coptic and other early versions. We have more than 24,000 manuscript copies of portions of the New Testament today. These copies include 5,300 known Greek manuscripts, more than 10,000 Latin Vulgate and at least 9,300 early versions. There is no other manuscript or document that can match up to the Bible. More people have read the Bible and it has been published in more languages than any other book. Also, more copies have been made from the Bible than any other book in history. There are also other sources through which we can know that t
According to McDowell, Jesus has three basic credentials: (1) The impact of His life upon history; (2) A fulfilled prophecy in His life; and (3) His resurrection. Christianity belief in the resurrection of Jesus is unique in that it out of four other world religions, Christianity is the only one that claims an empty tomb for its founder. In Matthew 17:22,23, Matthew the tax collector and disciple of Jesus said, "And while they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, 'The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men; and they will kill Him, and He will be raised again on the third day.' And they were deeply grieved." What if, I were with some friends and say to them, "tomorrow I'm going to die in a car accident and in three days I will rise from the dead." I believe the first thing they would do is take me to a doctor to get my head checked and next thing is placing me in a nut house. Only a foolish man would go around saying I'm going to die and! Not only do we see evidence in other writings, but we also see it in archaeology. An archaeologist named Bernard Ramm writes of the Jeremiah Seal: "Archaeology has also given us evidence as to the substantial accuracy of our Massoretic text. The Jeremiah Seal, a seal used to stamp the bitumen seals of wine jars, and dated from the first or second century A.D., has Jeremiah 48:11 stamped on it and, in general, conforms to the Massoretic text. This seal ...attests the accuracy with which the text was transmitted between the time when the seal was made and the time when the manuscripts were written. Furthermore, the Roberts Papyrus, which dates to the second century B.C., and the Nash Papyrus, dated by Albright before 100b.c., confirm our Massoretic text." Another archaeologist named Merril Unger said, "Old Testament archaeology has rediscovered whole nations, resurrected important peoples, and in a immeasurable to the knowledge of biblical backgrounds." Thanks to the arch! I will be raised from the dead, unless he knew for a fact that it would take place. There has not been anyone except One Christ, the Son of God, who knew that about Himself. Jesus Christ, the infinite God-man, was the only one out of other recognized religious leaders who claimed to be God. Neither Moses, Paul, Buddha, Mohammed nor Confucius ever claimed to be God. In Mark 14:61-64, Jesus was asked the question if he was the Christ and he said, "I am." Later, Jesus gets challenged by the Pharisees. Jesus accepts and He claims to be all three; the Messiah, the Son of Man, and the Son of God. In John 10:30, Jesus claims that God and Him are the same, and in John 5:23,24 the emphasis of honoring the Son just like you honor the Father is seen. Not only does Jesus claim that He and the Father are one, but His disciples also declare that truth. Paul in Philippians 2:9-11 says, "That every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord." In John 20:28 Thomas responses to Jesus Christ's reappearance saying, "my Lord and my God." In Matthew 12 and John 2, Jesus not only predicted His resurrection but also emphasized His rising from the dead would be the 'sign' to authenticate His claims to be the Messiah; for as Paul said, "if Christ is not risen from the de
