First Knight Composition 'To live one's life so that it is worthy of respect and honor', is what the code of chivalry meant to King Arthur of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table. They knew to never attack unless both sides were prepared, or to torture and attack from behind, for that was considered unfair and breaking the code of chivalry. They knew that this code meant they must be noble, obey the laws, protect their people, and administer justice. Being in this high class of nobility they were to have valor, produce courage in word and deed, and fight with honor. In addition they did of course carry themselves respectively with manners and were polite and attentive to all that was going on in Camelot. Lastly, these men held their loyalty to God, sovereign, Country, and to abide by the laws of the code of chivalry. In doing this they demonstrated what they found the code to mean and as Arthur told Lancelot, " In serving each other, we become free," was what the code of chivalry provided! They teach children right from wrong, like to make good decisions on such things from talking to strangers to what kind of foods to eat. They keep justice in their schools by punishing those that may talk out of line in class or make fun of other classmates.
