Islamic, european and chiense
Islamic, Western European and Chinese civilizations in order to grow and expand followed the teachings and laws of certain enlightened individuals whose minds broke out the traditional molds. These cultures all came into a time of renaissance and change in which the teachings of these leaders were not only accepted but completely changed the course of their civilizations, therefore changing the course of history. The creation of three great civilizations came about because of the quest of three men taking a simple approach to the root questions in life. To fully explain how religion and philosophy molded these civilizations, one must first briefly outline the historical events, which brought the people to the need for a higher being or simple answers to the pressing questions. Islamic civilization and its rise came into existence because of the enlightenment of one man, Muhammad. Islam came into being in 622 A.D. with the hegira (emigration) of Muhammad from Mecca to Yathrib or Medina. Islam managed to push the Arabs into a new kind of community (umma), which at the same time spread far beyond Arabia, Persia, India, North African countries and parts of Europe came under its domination. The Arabs managed to capture the most
The very essence and nature of these three societies developed from the teachings of a man portraying the enlightened truth from a higher being. The conclusion, which I have come by, is that Islam, Christianity and Confucianism had nothing against each other except for economics and power. Trade between the Eastern and Western side of the world was one of the greatest interactions between the two. Although at one point they fought with each other, mercilessly, their conflict has managed not to only destroy but to create as well. In the developing and meshing of two great civilizations, Islam and Western Europe, there is another civilization developing simultaneously, Asia. The development of Asian civilization evolved almost completely without contact with the Western European and Islamic Civilizations. In the developing of other civilizations there were cultures meshed together, producing trade, the interchange of languages and exchange of art, because of wars or migrations, an example of this is the influx of the Assyrians into the Middle East or the Aryans into India. Because China was more isolated, with vast deserts and high mountains expanding over parts of its terrain there was not the cultural exchanges as in the other cultures. Looking at the Western culture starting with Greece proceeding to Rome and then further on to the transformation of the Roman Empire into Western Europe, European culture started off from the beginning a more advanced society. Greek society and politics was much even like modern day democratic politics. Greek society also struggled to answer the major questions in life. This time of growth and renaissance in the Greek culture gave birth to philosophers like Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. as not cut off during these centuries, it was significantly diminished and carried on in awareness of Muslim dominance. Romulus and Remus in 753 B.C founded Rome. Rome remained under the rule of Etruscan kings and adopted many Etruscan customs, including the Etruscan alphabet, which was later embraced by Medieval Europe. Between 509 B.C. and 367 B.C Rome developed its political system, which was a very complex and organized administration. The question is often asked what kind of government did Rome have that it could conquer such vast land in less than fifty-three years? Not only did Rome conquer roughly the entire inhabited earth but also it brought it under its control. Augustus, Rome's "first politician," brought his empire into a time to time of peace, known as the Pax Romana. He faced many problems coming into this period; reconstruction of the government, demobilizing the army and rebuilding what had been torn down in years of war and strife. This peace instituted a stable government allowing the development of trade, art and culture. It is said that when Augustus came into powe! The first crusade was a risky venture but the Pope and the nobility it was to their advantage to send large amounts of nobles to fight, mainly because of the small feuds back home between idle and restless noble youths. The nobility also recognized the vast amounts of fortunes they could make in these wars. e Asian world, Confucius brought about a sense of enlightenment during a creative period in China. Chinese culture although very similar is the most distinct of the three civilizations, evolving more from extreme intellects than intangible gods. There is more a belief in ones self and doing good. This brings about a sense of loyalty to fellow neighbors, making this government and economic system a little different yet very similar. Islamic, Western Europe and Asian cultures all have one definite common bond in reaching a "civilized" civilization. Religion and the search for the basic answers to life's puzzling questions, "Is there an afterlife?" - "Is there a creator?" - "Is there a purpose in lif
