Nicotine
“RRRRRRRRRRinnnnnnnnnggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!”, the MHS school bell was letting everyone know that 2nd period was over. As I make my way to my locker I see dozens of kids going out to have a smoke at Fireman’s Park. “I’ve always wondered how many kids in this school smoke..” I said to one of my friends. I never knew much about nicotine. I had always wondered about it. My grandpa has been very ill since 1998 has come around, this is because he has smoked for about 40 years. Recently, he was just released from the hospital where he was for almost a month. He had fluid in his lungs and the cigarette smoking was literally eating him from the inside out. I wanted to know more about how I could help and what I could do to learn more about what nicotine actually is. I also wanted to know how nicotine works, and why it is such an addictive I was really confused on the topic, I had never learned about any of it, nor taken any health classes that dealt with the topic. What are the effects? What types of cancer can you get from it? How many people smoke? How many people have died from smoking? Millions of questions ran
. . .
