Catholicism

Throughout the 20th century, the Catholic Church has been looked down upon. There are many reasons for it, but as far as Catholics are concerned they are not very logical reasons. Most of this predisposed hatred, to something that is as pure as a religion, is because the Catholic Church is based around very strict guidelines. Although these guidelines have toned down over the century some still condemn the church for these rules. Throughout this paper, you will discover the ties between Catholicism and Fascistism, the structure of the Catholic Church, and how currently the values of the Catholic Church are disregarded. The Catholic Church is an institution of character with great respect for traditional values; with a strong religious structure, it overcame the troubles of the 20th century.

Before World War II, the Catholic Church shared a close bond with the Fascist Government. Catholicism was strong in European countries that had a Fascist Government in control. The Catholic Center Party even voted in favor of Hitler, showing they wanted him to rule Germany (ANT 39). This was because Hitler guaranteed “Catholics freedom to profess and practice their religion freely” and he helped Catholics get “finance and property
