How often do you go to a restaurant and notice how your server feels about having you as a customer? I have worked at Apple Bees, a local and popular Bar and Grill, for two years now and I know all of the servers. Many servers display their extent of attention to customers during their shift. All of the servers fall under one of three categories: Overbearing Karen, Conscientious Carrie, and I Don’t Care Kathy. These three categories generally characterize all servers. The first class is Overbearing Karen. She is an aggressive overbearing person. Overbearing Karen comes speed walking around the corner at the table. It looks as if she isn’t going to stop and will run right into the table. Right as she gets there she stops, leans over the table, and gets right into the customers face. Her breath is about to choke the customer. She starts to list all of the appetizers so slowly that by the time she finishes saying the third one, the customer gives in and orders one. She takes down the order and speed walks away. Right as the customers get done talking about how weird she is there she is again, flying around the corner. She comes right up to the table and sets down the appetizer and very intensely as
