I will never forget that warm sunny Sunday afternoon on my way to work. It was one of the most beautiful days of the summer. I had just got off the river and I had 35 minutes to get to work so I had plenty of time to shower, shave, and drive over to Apple Bees where I had to work at 5:30. The sun was out and the wind was blowing through the trees. I could feel the heat on my skin but the cool breeze kept it nice.

As soon as I was ready I casually hopped into my car and turned on the radio just as I was leaving my house. I was driving down Mt Pleasant when I saw one of my friends so I waved. Just after I saw my friend I had to turn onto Roosevelt. When I pulled onto Roosevelt I noticed it seemed to be abnormally quiet for 4:30 in the afternoon. As soon as I started to pass Godfathers I saw an old woman start to pull out from across Roosevelt. At this point I started to slow down and


When the police officer showed up we told him what happened and he just told us to wait in our cars. After he got our reports started I turned on the radio and tried to settle my nerves a little. Ten minutes later he came back with our licenses and the accident report. I quickly got back into my car and finished my trip to Apple Bees. By the time that I got to Apple Bees I was pretty much settled down and was ready to work.
