Curfew law
Purpose: To persuade against the idea of having curfew laws.Thesis: My main points of the speech are to show that curfew laws are too expensive to keep, are unconstitutional and should be dealt with by parents, and don't show a correlation with teenage violence. Introduction: A. Imagine yourself as a teen driving home after curfew, all of sudden your pulled over by the police and either arrested or ticketed for curfew violations. Then you think to yourself, I wasn't doing anything wrong. This has become an increasing problem in America today. 1. This topic is relevant to everyone in this class because most of us are still teenagers and still understand how ridiculous it was to have to deal with curfew laws a couple of years ago. 2. I have researched this topic extensively and have evaluated my scholarly source to determine that these laws should be reconsidered. 3. I will talk about these 3 main points in chronological order starting with these curfew laws are very expensive and they eat up taxpayer's money, that this law is unconstitutional and should be left up to the parents, and having this law does not decrease teenage crime.
