Robot City 3 (Book 5) Refuge
Refuge is only one book of seven that are in the collection of Robot City. Robot City is not Earth. It is another planet that was made by one human, Dr. Avery, who created a world where robots do most of the manual labor. There are few people live there, that are called by the name of "Spacers". These robots have two laws of robotics that are programmed into their positronic brains. The First Law of Robotics is that a robot may not knowingly harm a human being, or knowingly allow a human being to come to harm. The Second Law of Robotics is that the robots must obey the orders of a human being unless it conflicts with the First Law. These robots were not just mere calculators anymore. They could actually have some form of emotion from the First Law. Two "Spacers" named Ariel and Derec were trapped in space while they were trying to escape Dr. Avery from Robot City. They became trapped with two other robots inside their space ship with the Key to Perihelion. After Ariel could n!ot take anymore of her disease, her and Derec decided to use the Key. The Key was supposed to take them back to Robot City so Ariel to receive help even though they would most likely be sought out by Dr. Avery. W
ur living habits will too - good and bad is in store for Earth's future. This book tells a lot about how this author perceives Earth many years from now. It is a lot different and social status becomes a major deal. It shows that technology also changes our way of living. We will eventually start to live our life based on technology. The population will grow, and people will live longer. That is what technology will do for us. It is a very dangerous thing and it should not interrupt our patterns as human beings. It can also do good things, live safe someone who is dying from an otherwise deadly disease, like Ariel. In this book, space travel was the norm for "spacers", but the only way "earthers" got into the air on a regular airplane was if they were sick. So, now in this book, technology has us humans grouped as "spacers" and "earthers". These people on Earth did not want to have anything to do with freedom and "spacers" wanted everything to do with it. So, from reading this book I have the perspective that Earth really will change a lot, and o! planted a monitor in Derec's brain that opens communication with the chemfets and they spread. At this point, they both need to get out of Earth and back to Robot City to save Derec's life. They have to travel to New York City to get Dr. Avery's spaceship to travel back to Robot City. They get to
