During the late 19th century there were many socio-political systems for industrial laborers to ponder, including Marxist Socialism, Revisionists Socialism, Capitalism, and Anarchism. Marxist Socialism is a system in which workers were paid according to their work performed, ownership and operation by the state of all means of production, distribution, and exchange. Private property would be eliminated along with the working class, bringing about a classless society. Revisionist Socialism aimed at making improvements in pure socialism through the means of voting. Capitalism is the social system based upon private ownership of the means of production, which entails a completely uncontrolled and unregulated economy where all land is privately owned. Anarchists differed from socialists in their hatred of the state or any government based upon coercion.
