A detailed Summary of Bus


The bus system at Western Illinois University seems to be a great idea. Having stops all over campus to take students to and from class and then even back to the dorms, a friends, Wal-Mart, and parties. When I found out about the Go West bus system is was so excited, especially since I do not have my car down here and I am not one who loves to walk. What more could I ask for? There is a bus that picks me up and drops me pretty much anywhere on campus I would like to go. Even though the bus system is set up for our convenience, it is most of the time more aggravating then it is worth.

The first time I took the bus was a time at Western Illinois University that I will never forget. It was right at the beginning of winter and I had decided that it was too cold to walk to my classes. I then thought that this would be a great opportunity for me to check out the bus system. Boy what a mistake that was. As soon as there was sight of the bus people were plowing me over and running out to the bus. As I finally made it to the bus I managed to squeeze myself on. The first thing that I remember was the


ot showered in days. Not to mention the bus driver was rude and couldn't drive for anything. He kept hitting the breaks and stopping really hard knocking people all over. Then finally my stop arrived and I thought the bus ride was over but I was wrong again. Trying to get off the bus when there are people not moving an inch is almost impossible. Thank you or excuse me were not helpful in the situation. Finally I managed to push and shove my way to the door and I was free.

Another annoying fact about the bus is that it is never on time. There are 3 red busses (that is the bus that I take) and one is suppose to run every 10 minutes. That never happens. The busses are usually all right behind each other making the wait at least 15 minutes. This has caused me to be late to many of my classes and I know that I am not the only one saying that. Why is there a written out schedule that has times for the busses when they never follow it anyways.
