robots

We've seen them in the movies, in cartoons, and even working in hazardous conditions separate from humans, but as technology improves and man kind moves forward robots are appearing everywhere. Traditionally used to work independent from humans robots are now working with humans due to the new range of applications. Now there are robotic pets, waiters, guards, and tour guides just to name a few. With the growth of robots in our society many questions are raised such as self-identity, theory of mind, recognition of self and others, social learning, emotion, personality and ethics. It will speak when and what you tell it to and listen for phrases and sounds it recognizes. It can navigate around obstacles and can respond to requests or conditions it senses. However this is merely a machine that is programmed by a computer, it is not a friend or someone to carry on a conversation with.

With all of the humanistic traits in all of the robots it may be easy for one to believe that a robot can function, act, and be a total mimic of a human, but sociology will prove this wrong. It is highly unlikely that robots can mimic humans in many ways such as acquiring a master status and engaging in a role exit. Since a robot is processed in a c
