identity

In everyone's lives there are times when they are forced to determine what is wrong and what is right. The way that they determine this is by their belief system, or in simpler terms, our identities. You will hear of so many people having "identity crisis", as well they should. In a world where people are afraid to walk out in the streets, in a world where people have to put on two faces to get ahead, its easy to see how people can get confused about themselves. I can relate this to an experience I had in high school. Like many teenagers I had a hard time adjusting to a new school, new friends, new pressures, new fears and new dreams. I really had no self confidence, I was afraid to talk to anyone for fear of rejection, oft times I would hide in the corner of the room and pray that the teacher would not call on me, because I was afraid to answer their questions. It took sports to get me out of the fear of high school, not until I got accepted as an athlete did my self-esteem improve, did I start to feel more self-confident in my abilities. I will always r
