Attention Deficit Disorder or ADD is a disorder that effects thousands of Americians everyday of their lives. This disorder hits home for me because my friend Mike that I attended grade school with was diagnosed with ADD in first grade. He was left back to repeat the grade and then the school began screening him for this disorder.
In most cases of attention deficit disorder the individual will show signs of ADD in early childhood. ADD is identified by chronic behaviors usually lasting at least six months and not before seven years of age. There are four sub types have been established they are as follows.
1. ADHD - Inattentive type is defined by an person experiencing at least six
b. Difficulty in turn taking situations
d. Blurts out answers before questions have been completed
f. Difficulty engaging in activities quietly
