Moulin Rouge
What does the phrase THE WAY IT USED TO BE...really mean? What do those words really pertain to?? Not sure?? Well neither am I but regardless of their meaning we've certainly heard them a lot here in NFTY Michigan, admittedly many times out of my mouth. People some times wish to recreate the past, and most often aren't able to do so. So here's what I've concluded . you can't bring back the way it used to be. Recreating the past is impossible and if you spend your time trying to do so or always comparing things to what once was you'll miss the amazing things that are happening in the present. What you can do however, is use elements from the past to help construct a better future. That is what I want to do for NFTY Michigan. The future I perceive of consists of many parts. Each of these parts takes something from the past and combines it with ideas from the future to form a better version of a former experience. The answer to the problem of redundance lies within experimentation something that I am not afraid to do. If I am president I will aim for at least one totally out there program or one new type of service at each kallah and can almost guarantee you that on an educational level it will be NFTY Michigan's most fulfilling year yet. When you find programs intriguing or surprising you are apt to be more interested in learning the content - it's just a fact. 2. Initiate A Caravan a Month Program: That consists of twenty to thirty NFTY volunteers each of whom are required to attend 4 out of 12 rehearsed caravans scheduled throughout the year aimed at converting local members into regional regulars. 5. Help with and establish more Mini Kallot (think FLRTY's Social Action) aimed at forming leadership and recognition among TYG's that rarely get the opportunity to host regional events. 3. Give copies or parts of the Hamakor - NFTY's resource manual to every TYG An important aspect of NFTY Michigan that I would also like to continue to intensify is its social action programs, which have recently been
