Justice

Justice throughout history has changed dramatically from the Greek philosopher Plato to the major influence in American history, Martin Luther King, Jr. Justice has been around from the beginning and will continue until eternity. Justice has many different concepts such as moral righteousness and equality of treatment. Throughout history things have occurred that has lead to society to believe what we do.

Plato, Aristotle and Thomas Hobbes all came experienced justice from the very start. They all had their own belief of what justice is. Plato discussed justice as when everyone is doing something and no one is getting hurt than justice is being served. Aristotle describes his concepts of natural justice as general justice, legislative justice, particular justice, political justice, and economical justice. He provides these concept as basically the laws for slavery. Thomas Hobbes thrives on Aristotle's concept of natural justice. Hobbes believes in the survival of the fittest, that the strongest will survive


in certain situations. He believes that justice is a moral idea, meaning that an individual provides his or her own right or wrong for justice.

Today the word justice has changes tremendously throughout history. Plato's doing something and nobody getting hurt then justice is served was correct. Things began to change with Aristotle bringing in the concepts of the law of slavery, not really knowing what this would bring to the future. Then Hobbes came in and said strongest will survive, however, this has always been true. Douglas just realized that what was going on was unjust, but he could not do anything because he was a slave. This all came true when Thoreau and King came about. Thoreau said follow your heart and not he law, but things could happen this way because the law way too powerful. King made the most influence in American history with justice. He is the on that changed injustice to be justice. He changed people to believe that there can be moral righteousness and equality of treatment.
