Venezuela, republic of South America, bounded on the north by the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean and on the southwest and west by Colombia. The total area of Venezuela is about 912.050 sq. km. The capital of Venezuela is Caracas, one of the biggest cities in Venezuela.
The official language of Venezuela is Spanish. The Venezuelan population is made up of about 21.983.188 peoples. About 67% of the population in Venezuela are made up of Mestizos, mixed European and Natives. 21% of the population is made up of whites and 2% is made up of unmixed Native American. Roman Catholicism is the principal religion of Venezuela. Venezuela is divided into 22 states and 72 islands in the Caribbean that are the countries federal dependencies. Also, education is free and for children ages 5 and 15 education is compulsory.
