Greece gave birth to many philosophers. These philosophers were determined to seek the truth no matter what. Philosophers were the great thinkers of Greece. They set a path many wanted to follow. Among the greatest of the philosophers were Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. These men started the philosophic path.

Socrates was one of Athens greatest philosophers. One of his methods of studying and teaching was to walk in the market and ask people questions. He would ask if someone knew where he could buy a certain item. Then he would return and ask if they knew where he could find goodness and virtue. They would be stuck at the question. His way of teaching and studying was called the Socratic method. He taught that "people should examin

Among some of his students there at his final moments was Plato. When Socrates died Plato left Athens a saddened man. When he returned he started a school called the Academy. Unlike teacher, Socrates, Plato wrote many dialogues. His most famous was The Republic. He wrote how all people fall into three groups. One of his most famous teachings was that "Only the wisest men and women should be permitted to rule the people"(Roselle 98). Most of his teachings were accepted by all. His only known rivals were his teacher, Socrates, and his student, Aristotle. Those were the only opinions that mattered to him.
