Jane Austen's, Pride and Prejudice is a great book that displays a lot of feelings and false impressions. The entire book progresses around a family and their involvement with individuals of a higher status, but for the most part Jane Austen focuses on Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.
The title of this book consists of the themes of the novel, but the initial title of the book was to be "First Impressions." I feel that Elizabeth's prejudice was in her opinion based on first impression, and her pride was developed as determination that her impressions were correct. I see both Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy having great amounts of pride and prejudice, and because of this it was hard for them to become close to each other in the beginning of the novel.

The title Pride and Prejudice is a very fit title for this book because it associates very well to many of the characters and it is important in showing the importance of the book as a whole. If the book was entitled "First Impressions" I would still have to agree that would be a good title as well.

Once Mrs. Bennet finds out about Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy's plan to get married she thinks that it can not be so, but she doesn't show much prejudice against the idea considering the wealth that her daughter is getting married into.
It is possible that Elizabeth got her prejudice from her mother because Mrs. Bennet is one of the most prejudice people in the book. She is a very expressive woman and she is not afraid to tell her opinion on a matter. It was very important for Mrs. Bennet t
