Henry David Thoreau was one of the most brilliant writers of his time. He was also one of the most important Transcendentalist writers. This paper is going to discuss Thoureau's philosophy of simplicity and why it is not cut out for use in today's society.
Thoreau lived on Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts alone for two years. This is when he wrote his famous book Walden. Throughout this period in his life, Thoreau learned to respect nature and enjoy and relish in the simplicity of his life. He learned to appreciate and to see the beauty that exists within nature.
