Learning Centers
I chose to do my choice option project on the fifty states, titled ? THE FIFTY STATES.? I feel that this is a very important topic and that all children need to learn not only that there are fifty states, but the capitols, abbreviations, and other important information. While gathering information about the fifty states, I came to a few web sites and even a book. I did not look for any journal articles, because I did not feel that any of those would help children understand about the basics knowledge of the fifty states. If I had done this project for a higher-grade level, I would have gone deeper in the research This lesson is geared toward the third through fifth grade levels. The activities on the learning center can easily be modified if they become to easy, or you would like to work on a different area of the United States. The first two activities are somewhat similar, but still have two completely different objectives.
