Students travel all over the world to attend the college of their choice. They spend hours studying and researching different colleges and universities until they find the perfect one that suits there wants and needs. Every student pictures the perfect college for themselves. But, is it worth travelling hundreds or even thousands of miles away from home to attend college? Are these students ready for the dramatic change in lifestyle that goes along with living on their own? The first year of college is a time of confusion and uncertainty. They have a huge burden of new responsibilities on their backs that they never had while living at home. Is it worth the consequences? Some students while choosing a college or university do not realize the advantage of living at home. They do not look into the option of attending a nearby junior college or smaller university where it will not be such a dramatic change and they can commit more time to their work.
Attending a college near your home that you can commute too on an everyday bases has numerous advantages. The everyday stress of going away to college will leave the student tired and unable to study to their potential.
