A detailed Summary of reading the bible

>From reading the Bible, what comes immediately to our attention is the element of conflict in a man called upon to carry out an extremely difficult mission. The strength of Jeremiah as a character consists precisely in the intense and detailed conflict that rises between his hopes and his personal desires, those of the people to whom he is sent to proclaim the Word of God and the desires of God himself, who speaks through his words. In this essay I will explain what it is like to be in the shoes of Jeremiah as a prophet, how it affects his relationship with God and other people, and how being a prophet affects his own mindset.

Jeremiah seems to be put in a situation that is incomprehensible to me. To be directed by the Lord to do whatever He says whenever He says no matter what the consequences is quite pressure filled. Jeremiah is caught between a rock and a hard place but has faith in God's words. I am not sure if I would have that muc

Putting the stories of Jeremiah in retrospect, being the time period where religion is thought of much more seriously by a larger group of people in a very religious land I would be able to due God's will. After reading chapter 5 when God really shows the reader how deceitful His people are, the will to make the people of Jerusalem understand this would be motivation enough for me to want to follow through with God's Will.

To follow Jeremiah's message that is outside my expectations requires a strong freedom of spirit and often brings with it isolation and persecution. This is precisely Jeremiah's destiny, the cause of his loneliness and of his torment. Jeremiah personally goes through the dramatic content of the message he carries, experiencing it on his own person.

Jeremiah's story becomes clearer to me in his purchase of Hanamel's field, just when everything seems to call forth desperation rather than hope. For Jeremiah this is a sign.

Some common words found in the essay are:
