A detailed Summary of Anne Sextons
Everyone has an ideal about how they want their life to turn out to be. For the most part their ideal future is very far fetched. Having the 50 thousand-dollar car, the huge house on the beach in Florida, and the perfect husband or wife. This does not happen to everyone. Does it even happen to anyone? The poem Cinderella written by Anne Sexton demonstrates the fact that not everything that you want to become to true does. She does this by going threw her story and being very sarcastic, as if this kind of thing is actually going to happen.
Anne Sexton takes in to account that everyone must have heard the common Cinderella story passed on by generation to generation. For example in the 6th stanza "Next came the ball, as you

all know. It was a marriage market. The prince was looking for a wife." This also shows her sarcasm. All threw the poem she throws in small sarcastic comments some examples would be the last stanza "...happily ever after, like two dolls in a museum case never bothered by diapers and dust, never arguing over the timer of an egg, never telling the same story twice, never getting a middle-aged spread, their darling smiles pasted on for eternity. Regular Bobbsey Twins. That story." These are simple tings that the normal person goes threw at one point in time. Anne Sexton
