There are many scientific benefits to cloning.

There are many scientific benefits to cloning. Cloning is defined as the making of a precise copy of a molecule, cell, or individual plan or animal. The scientific benefits of cloning are endless and know no boundaries. The reason that it knows no boundaries is because not all forms of cloning are legal yet. I strongly believe that if the world would allow cloning we would benefit in numerous ways.

The original definition for cloning was defined by Dr. Ian Wilmut. He is the person who cloned the first live animal to adulthood. He cloned a sheep and named it Dolly. The news was made public in 1997 when the animal was two years old. "Wilmut himself, however, is not an advocate of human cloning, and designed his revolutionary technology with one idea in mind: manufacturing herds of animals for human use. In Wilmut's words, "The biotechnology industry exists to use genetic information to cure disease and improve agriculture" (e4ars 1,2)".

Some people thought that cloning was a new technology that had been developed in the past five to six years. This of course was false thinking. Scientists have been cloning human and animal genes and cells for decades. There are three different methods of cloning: cellular, molecu

Farmers and scientists are now able to produce livestock with more desired traits. They are now able to manipulate genes and replace them to make a superior animal. Homologous is what the process is called, it means replace a gene with a different gene for the same kind of function (Zinnen 1). This is not yet worldwide but one day will be.

Plastic surgery will become easier. The silicon and plastic that surgeons use will be replaced with real bone and tissue from the actual person. This will eliminate any fear of rejection by the body and their immune systems. This will also make it possible for other forms of surgery to take place using the actual tissue of the person (Benefits of Human Cloning 1,2).

Cellular cloning is the copying of cells derived from the body from the body by growing the cells in a culture in a laboratory. This method is used to sometimes produce new medicines. Molecular cloning is where DNA is inserted into another DNA fragment and then into a host cell. This is the more widely used for of cloning that is used to create medicines. This form has created medicines to help treat diabetes and tissue plasminopgen (Cloning Human Beings 14).

lar, and the kind that aims to accomplish the reproduction of animal cells (Cloning Human Beings 14).

A big field that scientists predict cloning will become very useful for is animal generation. This will benefit farmers around the world. They (farmers) no longer have to try to get the two best animals in their stock to mate for desired traits of their offspring (a long and time consuming task). They could create the animals they want with ease, and then those animals could reproduce themselves and the farmers would know they have the traits they want in their offspring.

If the idea behind cloned animal organs is not successful where will scientists turn? They may have no other choice than to go to human organs. There have been drastic improvements with human stem cells. Cells from organs or tissues can be harvested to produce exact replicas. The possibilities are endless in this field. Hearts, livers, kidneys, lungs, and skin are the organs scientists are concentrating on (Human Cloning Foundation 1). Man
