Capital Punishment
Punishment was developed as a form of consequence that has to be met when a law is broken, or when a crime takes place the wrongdoer must be punished. The point of punishment is to teach a lesson to those who commit these crimes and so that everyone will not continue to commit crimes because they know that they will have to pay for their actions. One of these forms of punishment is capital punishment where a person is sentenced to death. In most cases it is when the wrongdoer kills a massive number of people. I believe that capital punishment is not justified because it's demonstrating that two wrongs make a right. The first wrong committed by the wrongdoer and the second wrong being committed by the law in killing the individual through execution. The decision was reversed when new methods, which were not as cruel, were introduced in 1976. It is a very long and grueling process, and may take many years to actually put the prisoner to death. Due to all of the appeals and going in and out of court, money is wasted, which would not occur if we just got rid of the death sentence. It also makes our society look more brutal to outsiders looking in with our attempts of obtaining justice. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ On the other hand, think about the murderer's family and everyone who he is connected to. How are they going to feel even when they find out he killed someone? And worse of all h
