A detailed Summary of God and Me

God has always been a large part of my life. I am catholic, and I have always taken my religion very seriously. As I have gotten older, though, my curiosities about my beliefs grew stronger. Unfortunately, this led to the growth of my doubts of religion, and even of God. I attended a Catholic High School, and my junior year was filled with many instances in which I doubted God and my religion. Luckily for me, though, I attended a religious retreat, Logos, at the onset of my senior year. Through prayer,

private reflection, and interaction with other people at identical points in their religious growth, I became completely reassured of God's existence, and felt closer to God than ever.

I struggled with so many doubts about my religion going into the retreat. The fact that I was surrounded with many other people that felt exactly the same as me helped out tremendously. I was very fortunate to have been graced with a new understanding of both religion and my relationship with God at a time when I needed it the most. I went into the retreat with many doubts in my mind about God. Through prayer, personal reflection, and the support of others in my situation, I was able to come out of the retreat with a completely new, clear understanding of myself and my God. When I finally opened up my heart and used tools that would assist me in my quest for what I truly believed, the rest was simple.

The final day of the retreat, we were to go off on our own and take to as long as we wished for personal reflection. I found a quiet place by a lake, it was completely peaceful. I simply admired the beauty around me, and thought about the beauty in my life. As I sat relaxed, I thought about all the loved ones in my life, and all the love that they give me.
