Death in the work place is an alarming thought that many Americans have on their minds everyday. It is a growing problem in our country and we are seeing more and more of it occurring nation wide. All of these murders which keep happening is a major wake up call that something has to be done. Americans can not just sit back and wait until a disgruntled employee comes to work with an AK-47 and decides he/she is judge, jury, and executioner.

Murder in the work place does not only consist of angry employees that are upset they were fired. It accounts for all and every possible scenario that could happen while you are at your place of work. "Homicide was the third leading cause of occupational death from 1980 to 1985, accounting for 13 percent of all work place deaths". My personal feelings on murder in the work place are that it is bound to happen again and is unable to be predicted. I feel that companies and schools all over should be mandated to come up with a system or some way to deter this from happening. The solution for this problem is far from solved and requires extreme attention. In the future I hope when I join the American work force that there is a little more security that will give a person like myself some piece of mind at work. Maybe with thorough and extensive evaluations of people who show signs of potential murderers can be stopped before it is too late and there is murder in work place. It is not going to be easy but maybe with new legislative laws it can be done and lives can be saved.
