A detailed Summary of Ethnic Equality
The argument that Americans are having about racial-ethnic minorities and equality in the school systems of American seems to be true in the sense that minorities in this country are still lacking the academic achievements that the white American have achieved. Even with all the equality laws and racism being removed from most classrooms, minorities are still not getting the same education that a white American is getting. Mathematics is a big subject that minorities are lacking in.

Hill explains in his article that lack of social support, scarcity of role models, limited access to resources and differing worldviews all contribute to the low math achievements in most but not all minority groups. When looking at the different races and minorities in the classroom and trying to determine if they are "catching up", you have to look at the different problems each minority group faces and then look at how those problems affect the learning process. Not all groups are able to learn at the same pace or in the same environment as each other.

A solution to the inequality that minorities are receiving in schools is to educate the teachers on how to teach to the wide range of ethnic backgrounds we are seeing in more and more schools each year.
