Marijuana, should it be legal or should its status continue to be listed as an illegal mind altering drug? It has been an issue on the topic of a lot of people. One aspect of this topic is the legalization of just the growth and export of this drug to other countries and continents where this drug is legal. The side of the debate I am standing on is to legalize the growth and export of this drug to other foreign countries. The growth and sale of marijuana will boost the economic status of the United States because of the high marketability of this drug. The pros of legalizing it are the extra income being created, the jobs being created from the cultivation, and the fact that some areas of the United States have prime climate to grow marijuana.
My first point to the debate is the money that could be brought in from
the sale of this drug. Depending on who the law allows to grow the substance, whether it is government organizations or civilian farmers, the sale of one pound of high quality marijuana can be sold for as much as three thousand dollars or more according to statistics given on www.whitehousedrugpolicy.gov. The amount of money that could be made from exporting marijuana to other countries would be astronomical. With the technology and science know how the United States possesses; we could produce a strain of marijuana that would make all other inferior. The big issue about the money would be whether the government would allow civilians the right to the money.
