After the longest semester of my college career, and endless hours of Learning and Teaching homework, I think I’ve come up with my limited and juvenile definition of being a teacher. Although the fact still remains, that I will not become a teacher, I believe that a teacher is a person who has certain characteristics, somewhat like a parent. According to the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language the word teacher means, “one who teaches; especially, a person hired by a school to teach”. A teacher is hired firstly to teach and instruct his/her pupils. Their instructions are to relay textbook material to students in order to prepare them for the following grade and most importantly preparing them for the future.
