Racism is still a huge part of today's society. Headlines like these are on the news and in the newspaper almost every day. The United States is one of the most diverse countries in the world. People come here because of the great things they hear about this country, but they never expect being called names and/or maybe even being attacked. Sometimes a certain race maybe the majority in a neighborhood, and some in that neighborhood have the mentality that no person of another race belongs in their neighborhood or on their block and may react in a harsh manor. Situations like these are exemplified in several different scenes in the movie A Bronx Tale.

Although "C" 's father taught him not to hate or judge people by their race, his father still seemed somewhat racist. In one scene "C" was getting ready for a date. The girl was black. He told his father that his "friend" wanted to date a black girl and asked if anything was wrong with that. His father said there is nothing wrong with it if they like each other, but when "C" asked him what if he was to date a black girl, his father replied "what's wrong, you can't find anymore girls that's your 'type'".
