As the time to move on to higher learning draws closer and closer, there are many decisions that a senior must make. Selecting a university can be a truly frustrating choice to make because there are so many factors that must be considered. Among these decisions, is whether to go to a near-by university or to a school that is out-of-state. Attending a university while remaining at home differs greatly than going to an out-of-state university in price and the experience one receives.

The experience that a student could have will differ greatly depending on his choice. If a student goes away to a university, it will be most likely he or she will stay in a dormitory. This will be a great opportunity to meet new people. One might also learn to adapt to new surroundings better and quicker then one who stays at home. Living on a campus far from home will also teach a sense of independence that one who remains at home will not be able to achieve. On the other hand, a student will have many changes to accept during this period in his life and may need his surroundings to remain the same.
