Culture

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to be brought up in a culture different than your own? I interviewed a gentleman at my place of employment that grew up in the Dominican Republic, which is mainly a Spanish Culture. The Dominican Republic consists of Federal Government, and each provincia has a government consisting of a governor, a mayor, and a senator, similar to the United States legal system. The country is made up of thirty provincias, which one provincia is equivalent to our one state. Within each provincia different towns exist, with each town consisting of a police department, fire department, and a central municipal building. Even though each town has somewhat of an organized set up, really it is just the opposite. Within the town government, things are really not organized. The governm

At the age of eighteen, most young adults get married, and begin to develop a family of their own. Religion is also an important part of the family life, and to the Spanish culture. About ninety five percent of the country are Roman Catholic, and a high percentage of these people attend church

The Dominican Republic, and its people as a whole do not like outsiders. These people have established their country to what it has become, and they feel that they can make it by themselves. They value their independence. There culture is very similar to that of our own but it does have its differences, and that's what makes it unique.
