Nihilism is the belief that conditions in the social organization are so bad as to make destruction desirable for its own sake independent of any constructive program or possibility and this is the first topic West tackles. West's thinks affirmative action should not be viewed as a solution to poverty or equality, just as playing a negative role, because without it racial and sexual discrimination would return, and it would be even harder to

ratification and responsibility. This group calls for self-help programs and black owned business expansion.
