Daniel Defoe is one of the great and well-known writers of English Literature who lived between 1660 and 1731 when the historical changes and cultural developments took place in that period. “Robinson Crusoe” which is first published in 1719, is one of his most important and significant novels that is known by most people all around the world. It is an interesting and impressive story that tells the wild life of a man on a deserted island. This man is Robinson, the main character of the story, he is passionately fancying to travel through seas as a sailor and to see different places and also to meet and know new people all around the world. When the story begins, he is only 18 years old and he always tells this inevitable ambition to his parents but they, especially his father does not let him to be a simple sailor in order not to risk his life in a possible shipwreck. At first, Robinson seems to accept this decision but his desire for sea grows day by day and one day, without! informing his parents, he sets on a voyage with a captain and this voyage is the beginning of a new life for him.
