A relationship is an association between two or more people at different degrees. Most relationships are mutual and others are hostile. Mutual relationships are very important as well as delicate. They can keep people together as long as one person doesn't turn there back on the other. In A Separate Peace by John Knowles, a relationship develops between Gene and Phineas. This relationship is very similar to the one between Doodle and his older brother in "The Scarlet Ibis" by James Hurst. These two relationships have been through rough times but both of them manage to stay strong during those hardships. These bonds lasted until one person let the other person down. Although these two relationships are very similar, both of them have their differences.
Phineas and Doodle are very similar. One characteristic that is similar between Phineas and Doodle is that they both have vast imaginations. Phineas pretended that the war was a scheme to keep young people organized and mature. Doodle's imagination caused him to make obvious lies. Most of his lies referred to p

Phineas started off as an excellent athlete, exceeding in every sport he played but then he became a handicapped person who could no longer participate in sports. Unlike Phineas, Doodle started off as a handicapped person who was not allowed to participate in intense activities but with his brother's help he became more active as the story progressed.
