One White Carneau pigeon were kept at its 80% ad lib weight. Both grain and water were made available to the pigeon in its homecage. The pigeon was about six years of age. The pigeon had no experience with the experimental produre.

The hardware used to conduct this experiment were as followed: A two-door gray soundproof enclosure, measured 49.5 cm long, 54.5 cm wide, and 34.5 cm high. An observational window was slightly centered on the left door of the chamber covered by a sliding door. This window was 27 cm long and 18 cm high.
